The FedEx E-Commerce Learning Lab is a multi-faceted program designed to help diverse small business owners who are looking to develop or expand their e-commerce operations as they continue to adapt their business models in the wake of COVID-19.

FedEx E-Commerce Learning Lab Components

Start Selling Online

If you’re ready to start selling your products online for the first time, FedEx and AOF have a great opportunity for you. This fall, 150 small business owners from across the country will be selected to join a cohort program that provides coaching and hands-on support for setting up a virtual store, marketing, customer service, order fulfillment, and more. Selected participants will receive:

  • Exclusive access to e-commerce expert coaches
  • Fulfillment and shipping support through the 2021 holiday season
  • A $2,000 business grant to offset e-commerce setup costs
  • FedEx deals and discounts

Optimize Your E-Commerce Operations

If you already sell your products online, you know that e-commerce sales have a big effect on your business operations. It can be challenging to chart a path toward online growth while balancing all the day-to-day tasks of the business.

AOF and FedEx are proud to partner on a virtual seminar series to help answer these questions and more. Incorporating some of the best experts in the industry and multiple opportunities for engagement and networking, the seminars will offer valuable guidance on a number of core business topics relating to e-commerce.

Get Involved: The FedEx E-Commerce Learning Lab advanced virtual seminars are open to any business owners who sell products online. These seminars will take place in the fall of 2021 and winter of 2022.

No matter what your experience level with e-commerce is, there’s always more to learn. That’s why AOF and FedEx are creating the Learning Lab Hub, an on-demand online curriculum that allows busy entrepreneurs to learn valuable e-commerce lessons in a quick, interactive virtual environment.

About the FedEx E-Commerce Learning Lab

The FedEx E-Commerce Learning Lab aims to support small businesses owned by women and people of color who have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. As a result of more consumers shopping online during the pandemic, eMarketer reports that e-commerce volumes grew by 33 percent in 2020. Through this program, FedEx hopes to connect diverse small businesses with the tools, resources, and experts that can help them navigate online sales and forge a new path to growth.

The intensive, hands-on learning experience will be open to 150 small business owners who are new to e-commerce and is scheduled to run over the course of five months, beginning in September 2021. This timeframe will ensure that participants receive support with holiday marketing and promotions as well as technical support in all aspects of managing holiday orders, traditionally the busiest time of year for e-commerce.

Technical support, one-on-one coaching, order fulfillment and initial hosting of their online stores will be delivered in collaboration with 37 Oaks, a Chicago-based social enterprise founded by Terrand Smith, that helps small businesses owned by women and people of color prepare for distribution through diverse growth channels.

Business owners who aren’t selected for the cohort program or who have already launched e-commerce for their businesses can benefit from the advanced seminar series, which aims to help businesses optimize their operations to scale their e-commerce. And entrepreneurs who seek a more independent learning experience can access trusted guidance on e-commerce through the Learning Lab Hub, an on-demand interactive learning experience that will launch on the AOF site in the summer of 2021.
